Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I attend therapy?

Clients typically book weekly to get the most out of counselling, but sessions may be more or less frequent depending on your needs and the severity of your concerns. During your first session, we’ll sit down together and determine a schedule that feels right for you.

How long are sessions?

Sessions are 50 minutes or 80 minutes in length, depending on your needs and preferences. Some individuals like to meet for 50 minutes weekly, while others prefer a longer session every two weeks. Not sure which is right for you? You’re always welcome to mix and match.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! I offer direct billing options for Blue Cross, CanadaLife, Telus Health, & Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC). If your insurer doesn’t participate in direct billing, you will receive a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

How long will I need to go to therapy to see results?

The answer to this is different for everyone. Some clients begin to notice progress after 6-8 sessions, while others need 20+ to see long lasting results. We’ll check in regularly to ensure we’re on the right track.

What does sliding scale mean?

A sliding scale means session fees are adjusted based on your financial situation. It’s designed to make therapy more accessible, so you can get the support you need at a rate that feels manageable. Sliding scale is available upon request.
